Dr. Sohrab Ansari, DDS

Dr. Ansari grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and studied biochemistry at the University of New Mexico before earning his DDS at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2016. After living in a few different cities he settled in Royal Oak, where he took over the practice and kept the team, the patients, and the way things were done.

He spends a good part of every year in continuing education. He has advanced training in dental implants and is a Fellow of the International Dental Implant Association, and he's trained in oral sedation for patients who need help getting through a visit.

He's also an author. His first book is Passenger: The Way Back to Your Heart, Mind, and Body. He wrote it for his three kids first, and then for anyone who wants to live closer to the deepest part of themselves. It's about caring, being present, and staying close to who you really are.

Outside work you'll find him with his three kids, or reading, meditating, doing yoga, hiking, snowboarding, playing chess, or somewhere outdoors.

Dentist

Dr. Chris Dollar, DDS

Dr. Dollar is from right here. He grew up in Huntington Woods and Troy, earned his biochemistry degree at Central Michigan University in 1995, and got his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2007.

He spent his first years as an associate at group practices in Clinton Township, Shelby Township and Clarkston, and that's where he worked out what kind of dentist he wanted to be. His answer was trust and family. He sees his team as an extension of his own family, plays to everyone's strengths, and thinks time together should involve talking, listening and laughing.

He's a big believer in continuing education, for himself and for the whole team. He's a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society, and of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Macomb-Oakland Dental Association and the United States Dental Institute.

He's been married for 30 years and has two sons. Outside the office he's with friends and family or outdoors, and he's become an avid runner who signs up for charity races.
