Kids' dentistry in Royal Oak
First visits that go well, so the next one is easy.
Kids decide how they feel about the dentist early, so we take first visits slowly: a ride in the chair, counting teeth, a look at the tools, and a sticker. Both of our dentists see children, parents are welcome in the room, and most insurance covers kids' checkups in full.

What happens at your visit
- Say hello
We start slow. Your child sits in the chair, or on your lap if they're little, and we count teeth and look for anything that needs attention.
- Cleaning and fluoride
A gentle polish and fluoride once they're comfortable. Older kids get x-rays when they're due.
- Sealants
A thin coating on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. It's quick, it doesn't hurt, and it prevents a lot of cavities.
- If something needs fixing
Small fillings are done numb, with nitrous if it helps. We explain every step in kid language and take breaks when they need one.
Cost and insurance
Most insurance covers children's checkups in full, including sealants and fluoride. No insurance? Kids can join our membership plan too. See financing and insurance, or our membership plan if you don't have insurance.
Common questions
When should my child first see a dentist?
By their first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming in. The first visit is short and mostly about getting used to us.
My child is scared. What do you do?
We don't rush, we don't surprise them, and we don't force anything. A first visit can be just a look. For older kids who need treatment, nitrous can help.
Do you see teenagers?
Yes. We see patients of every age, and plenty of our teens keep coming through college.
